Plea negotiations are ongoing with one of the men accused in the disappearance and killing of navy veteran Adam Messier.
Prosecutors gave defendant Curtis James Blas an offer ahead of his hearing before Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena in the Superior Court of Guam today.
Attorney Terence Timblin is representing Blas.
"My client indicated that he accepted everything except the cooperation part and that was already conveyed to Mr. Rapadas and Jay Arriola on January 11th but I’ll leave it up to Mr. O’ Mallan," he said.
Details of the offer have not yet been made public.
Timblin added, if Blas agrees to cooperate with the government, then he would have to testify against co-defendants Brandon Flaherty and Donavan Carriaga.
Flaherty also got a plea deal from prosecutors.
They are back in court on May 2.
The case stems back to September 2017 when Messier threatened to report his roommate for illegal drug activity. Messier then went missing before a witness later allegedly admitted the defendants brutally beat messier and dumped his body.
