Day five of the 2023 Tumon Bay Music Festival. The sounds play on with the band students from the Harvest Christian Academy and Untalan and Anderson Middle Schools performing today at the Micronesia Mall

Not only was it their first time performing together, band students only rehearsed just an hour before show time.

Joanne Matanane is the festival manager.

"They’ve been practicing their own individual music at their school sites prior to this day," she said. "Some of them are new to one to two pieces but that was the fun getting together, reading music and just collaborating on the fly."

Despite only having a short period of time together, Matanane said that for the most part, they’re excited to perform.

The festival will continue through March 11 with an award ceremony.
