The video of a fire that ravaged an entire modular trailer overnight is now part of the evidence involved in an investigation to find out who started it. The security cameras in the Harmon neighborhood capturing at least three people believed to be responsible. KUAM News spoke exclusively with the property owner, as a search gets going for the arsonists.

Large flames and smoke billow into the air in Harmon just before midnight Tuesday. A modular trailer on Adrian Sanchez St. completely destroyed. Firefighters with the Guam Fire Department spent about half an hour putting it out.

Fortunately, no one was inside and no one was hurt during the response. Still, the flames posed a danger to the surrounding apartment complexes and businesses. The fire was no accident.

Ron Sarmiento, family owner of the San Agustin compound the structure sits on, tells us he got a closer look at security footage revealing the fire was intentionally set.

"Basically what we saw on the cameras was three individuals walking to the back of the trailer house, and then they were there for a while, and then we saw some light flashing in the backside of the trailer house, and not too long after that, each of the three individuals started leaving towards the roadside and then all of a sudden you see the building on fire," he said.

His security cameras capturing at least three people there before the fire sparked. Sarmiento, unsure if the trio frequently roams the area. He's sifting through whatever he can find to pinpoint those responsible.

He said, “I can’t make that assumption; I know that the tenants were forced to leave because the buildings were up for demolition, and you know, I don’t know if they were upset with the move or what, so there are different possibilities that may be in place.”

Gfd spokesperson, Nick Garrido, confirms with KUAM that the investigation into the fire is underway. Sarmiento hoping those arsonists are caught and held accountable. “Individuals like that—they don’t have any right to go around burning other people’s properties. Whether or not it's worth anything, that doesn’t matter; that’s not the point. it’s arson—that’s a crime," he said.

A crime that now leads to a manhunt and others left picking up the pieces.
