Crime scene detectives search for clues, as authorities get back to finding a killer.

It's been one month now since Jason Susuico’s body was found badly decomposed in a jungle area off route 15 in Yigo.

The retired Guam Army National Guard Member's death was ruled a homicide. The autopsy report showed Susuico suffered from a severe blow to his body resulting in him taking his final breath.

Detectives still searching for a murderer.

Guam Police Department Chief Stephen Ignacio admitted the investigation into Susuico’s homicide took a back seat for the past couple of weeks, as investigators were kept busy working to solve the recent robberies and thefts.

"That case is ongoing," he said. "Unfortunately, some of the investigation had to be sidetracked because of the ongoing robbery investigations. We had to shift some resources."

Ignacio this past week said with KUAM that finding Susuico’s killer is a priority.

"So we are back on track with the Susuico and right now everything is under investigation," he said. "We are still chasing down leads."

A chase that includes still trying to piece together a possible motive for the murder, a search for potential witnesses, and a manhunt as authorities try to track down a killer.

"The family has lost a loved one and we extend our sincerest of condolences to them. Rest assured the GPD continues to the investigation and follow all leads," Ignacio said.

Susuico was laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery in Piti.
