A sign of the times -- G4S is on Saipan to recruit for jobs on Guam.

The company, which already employs hundreds in the CNMI, is holding a two-day job fair at the PIC hotel on Saipan with the hopes of providing opportunities to locals who might have been let go from their jobs recently. They're looking to hire 70 people to be security supervisors and officers, certified lifeguards, technicians through an apprenticeship, and accounting staff.

KUAM News spoke with Teresa Kasperbauer Sakazaki, G4S general manager for Guam & CNMI.

"We wanted to ensure that the people of the CNMI had jobs and thought what a unique way and we had positions open on Guam and we thought that this would be a perfect opportunity for individuals who may be affected by the situation to give them employment," she said. "So we would fly individuals that we select. We would pay the airfare to Guam. We will give a relocation fee and help to support them that way while they are gainfully employed."

If it is not a good fit after 6 months, workers have the option to leave and return home to the CNMI, which G4S will pay for.

G4S is an allied universal company, the largest security company in the world.
