A Nigerian man accused of recruiting two Guam women to participate in an advanced fee scheme has signed a deal with the feds.
Defendant Okechukwu Iwuji is set to admit to the charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud in the District Court of Guam tomorrow.
He faces up to 20 years in prison.
His plea agreement comes 16 months after co-actor Jide Abimbola pleaded guilty to similar charges.
As we reported, the men allegedly recruited Teresa Pereda and Sally Roberto to scam almost a half-million dollars from local residents.
As part of the scheme, they would offer victims a large sum of money and fraudulently convince them to pay various fees in advance of receiving promised funds.
Investigators learned Pereda and Roberto would then wire the money to the men.
