Troubling -- that’s what Guam Attorney General Douglas Moylan thinks about the feds' investigation into alleged public corruption in the Guam Police Department.

KUAM News reported Thursday that unsealed documents named retired Guam Police Department captain Ken Mantanona and police Capt. Kim Santos were among those allegedly tipping off retired cop John "Boom" Mantanona.

Mantanona allegedly gave the inside information to multiple drug traffickers.

Moylan said his office is monitoring the case, stating, “bad cops have no place in law enforcement nor in this government. I am looking at every name coming out of that federal indictment. When you have bad cops, law enforcement investigations become tainted, people's lives are tainted. Anyone that fights crime cannot be around people that endanger them and their families.”

The AG said it is troubling his predecessors never caught it, stating, “this shows how this alleged drug world infiltrated even the highest level of our law enforcement and our government.”

Chief of Police Stephen Ignacio told KUAM he is having internal affairs look into the case.
