Man allegedly said meth use contributes to his abuse of victim

After months of allegedly threatening and abusing a woman known to him, 40-year-old Jonathon Mendiola is facing charges of Terrorizing, Terrorizing with a special allegation of Deadly Weapon Used in a Felony, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Aggravated Assault and Family Violence.
According to a magistrate's complaint, the allegations stretch back to October 2022 when the victim reported Mendiola allegedly tried to throw her out of a second-story window and had knives on him when they argued.
Mendiola also is accused of stabbing the woman's bed with a samurai sword inches from her last month as well as holding a gun to her face, threatening her after she had called the police.
Mendiola allegedly admitted to police about using the samurai sword as well as a BB gun to threaten the victim. He also was found with a pipe with suspected meth reside. Court documents state Mendiola allegedly told police that when he becomes angry he does not think
straight and that his meth use contributes to it.
