23 years of using drugs and now sober.

Federal drug defendant Rebecca Morta Mendiola is sentenced to serve 37-months in a U.S. Bureau of Prisons facility.

During a hearing before Judge Ramona Manglona in the District Court of Guam, Mendiola shared her remorse and apologized for her crime.

Others also spoke in favor of the court showing Mendiola leniency testifying that she has since turned her life around.

She stands accused of attempting to smuggle in and sell more than 100 grams of meth.
