Father and son plead not guilty to brutal assault on teen

The Garcias – a father and son – accused of brutally beating the wrong person they thought was stealing from them denied the allegations against them in Superior Court.

Jeffrey Garcia and Jeremiah Garcia pleaded not guilty to assault before magistrate Judge Benjamin Sison today.

Defense attorney Curtis Vandeveld told the court the pair are not asserting their speedy trial rights.

It was last year, the Garcias were caught on cell phone video allegedly beating a 17-year-old boy they had mistaken for a person who had been stealing from their property.
