CNMI Gov. Arnold Palacios has asked for the courtesy resignations of all politically appointed members of boards and commissions.

The governor is expected to make a number of new appointments this week, including to his cabinet. In a recent memo, Palacios asked board and commission members appointed by former Gov. Ralph Torres to leave their posts.

He wrote, "we are dedicated to making fresh...changes that will help to rebuild trust and confidence." Palacios added that he welcomes their collaboration with new appointees and thanked them for their service.

In a previous interview, Palacios told KUAM that reviewing the commonwealth's finances took priority over the appointments during his first days in office.
