Southern High receives 'D' rating after inspectors find black mold

Southern High School is not making the grade.
Inspectors from the Department of Public Health and Social Services gave the Santa Rita campus a letter "D" rating after finding black mold among other major health issues during a recent inspection.
Take a look at just how bad things look down there.
Photos captured today by education oversight chair Sen. Chris Barnett illustrate the issue. He went down to the school after hearing about the inspection report.
In the photos, you can see moldy classrooms and, as health officials noted in their report, other areas on the campus in disrepair.
Barnett told KUAM he learned the campus has been without air conditioning for some time only contributing to the mold problem.
There's no word when that will be fixed.
Southern High officials also tell the committee chair the area with mold is closed off to students.
Guam Department of Education has until the end of this month to correct the issues.
