Guam's unemployment rate drops to 4.4%
On a steady path to recovery, the administration announcing today Guam’s labor market showing improvement with the unemployment rate dropping to 4.4%. The data recorded last September, a 0.4% decrease from three months prior to that.
At the peak of the pandemic, in December 2020, Guam’s unemployment was at 19.4%. Governor Lou Leon Guerrero stating it is evident more people are returning to work, more businesses are reopening, and new enterprises get their start.
Additionally, the current employment report shows an increase in people getting hired – more than 2,700 compared to the year prior.
