Looking to get paid to make Guam greener?

The Guam Green Growth Conservation Corps may just have what you've been searching for.

The corps now recruiting 12 members for its third cohort to become part of a five-month-long workforce development program.

Phil Cruz is the G3 program coordinator.

"We really want to include our local community---our local population in all of the efforts and initiatives that we forward," he said. "We want to make sure that we're not leaving behind our own people. We want to make sure to get them on board with our sustainable initiatives, and help them to be part of our movement with sustainability."

It's a movement to focus on renewable energy, zero waste, watershed restoration, endangered species preservation, agriculture, aquaculture, and more.

The 12 recruits will sharpen their skills with the guidance with the experts and get hands-on training in different fields.

The program also offers up to 80 continuing education credits from the University of Guam's global learning and engagement program.

"We're looking to recruit anyone aged 18 and up interested in conservation and sustainability," Cruz said. "Whether you're fresh out of high school, early or middle part of your career, and want to change things up, I think you would be a great applicant."

The plus side - each cohort member will get paid with a stipend ranging from thirteen to fifteen hundred dollars bi-weekly.
