You can expect to see our island paradise featured in a Korean TV show coming soon. KUAM was there in Tumon recently to see the film crew in action for ourselves. The production including actors hand-picked from right here on Guam.

"I've worked Korean and Japanese production crews before," explained Jon Muth. When the camera's aren't rolling, Jon's job means fitness. But, when it comes to films and features showcasing the island - he's camera-ready.

He admitted, "It's a good time."

Kicking off the new year, he was among these famous Korean actors, singers, and comedians enjoying Guam’s weekend sunset at The Beach Bar and Grill. It was a group filming for a popular TV show, at a familiar place. And cast to play a part is Jon.

"So it was through social media. Usually it's more like a network of people that I’ve worked with before. So I think there’s no real agency or anything like that," he said. "It’s people or contacts that I’ve worked with before when these crews come here looking for casting."

He and at least five others from Guam were cast for the job, as he recalled, "When opportunities like this come through I always take them because it's like I get to be a part of some foreign content that I may or may not be able to see."

The television show is called Dolsing Fourmen, meaning "four divorced men". He said, "The first shot was just them having their first sunset beach experience and we walk by on the beach and they meet a bunch of local guys and make friends. Then they want to challenge us at beach volleyball. Those are the two scenes."

It airs on SBS, one of South Korea’s largest broadcasting companies. And online on YouTube, some episodes reached more than a million viewers. "They were really funny. Even with the language barrier too you can tell they just don’t take themselves too seriously. It makes the work obviously not feel like work," said Jon. "They were asking us who do you think is the strongest one, the best looking or the oldest. That was the extent of our conversation and they were like alright let’s go play volleyball"
