The winners for an art contest were announced earlier this morning at Adelup. The Guam Childcare Art Contest Award ceremony celebrated our young artists, kicking-off with a special performance by the Tumon Bay Youth Orchestra.

One of the judges was Public Health deputy director Terry Aguon, who said, "Judging was difficult. And I will say that amongst the young fine artists that we have, I’m sure there is a Van Gogh, a Monet, or even a Marie Cassatt out there. So it is an honor to be a part of this process."

Andrea Soriano from Finegayan Elementary School won People’s Choice in the Elementary Art Section. Amanda Saloman from Santa Barbara took 2nd. Olivia Dierking from Bishop took 1st.

The Elementary Coloring winners are Justin Cuevas from Santa Barbara won People’s Choice, Camilla Pallera from Santa Barbara took 3rd place, Liam Park from Dear Tree Art Studio took 2nd . And Haley Mantanona from Harvest taking 1st.

Middle School art winners are Hannah Rosario from Harvest, who won winning People’s Choice, Karisma Tupaz from SIFA taking 2nd, and Sunny Lee from St. Paul taking 1st.

"I’m excited to share that today’s winners will receive a VIP package from the Pacific Islands Club Guam and the Super American Circus, along with a Guam Childcare winners prize package which includes a free 2 hour art session at Art Beat Studios in Tamuning," said Aguon.

Congratulations to all winners. The art submissions are on display at the Agana Shopping Center.
