The CNMI Government released some of the much-anticipated data from the BOOST Program.  The Building Optimism, Opportunity, and Stability Together initiative provides financial assistance to local businesses and non-profits through grants funded by American Rescue Plan federal money.

Some legislators have accused Governor Ralph Torres of using the program for political reasons, which he has denied. Some House members are looking into its structure and award process in an effort to ensure fairness.

The recently released data shows that of the 4,227 applicants, 431 were awarded. A total of $10.5 million was awarded. 241 recipients were small businesses and 190 were under the Fisher, Farmer and Rancher Program.

Businesses who received the grant include those in auto repair, rentals, boat charters, restaurants, bakeries, and wholesale.
