Were you at the Japanese Autumn Festival last Saturday? Then no doubt you had a good time enjoying what the Japanese culture had to offer. KUAM News caught up with the event planners who shared their thanks to everyone who came to celebrate.

The return of the festival was nothing short of successful. The Japan Club of Guam shared over 30,000 people showed up for the festivities.

President Kazumi Aoki said, "I’m really happy and thank you. So many customers came down. I want to say, the Japan Club of Guam’s board members and Akimatsuri Autumn Festival community members, great job."

Tons of booths and stalls lined up at the festival sold out of almost everything the festival had to offer. The delicious food ranging from the yakitori, yakisoba and taiyaki sold out even before the festival closed out. The various performances at the event had people sitting on the ground and enjoying every minute of it.

The taiko performance, aikido demonstrations and the big tuna cutting show were all eye-catching. Also a first that happened at the festival, all 150,000 tickets to buy food or play games were sold out.

The Japan Club of Guam is grateful to everyone who showed their support for the return of the event after two long years.

Aoki said, "I’m very thankful. The Japan Club of Guam, every board member in the Japan Club of Guam, we want to say thank you so much and we have to do the festival next year, too. So please come down next year."
