A proposal has been made to rename Talofofo Elementary School after two former educators of the southern campus - Joaquina Mendiola Cruz Roberto and Rosa Garrido Roberto Carter.

A public hearing will take be held Wednesday, November 30 at the school’s cafeteria.

Guam Education Board chairman Mark Mendiola spoke on the topic, saying, "I encourage all the community members of Talo’fo’fo and the neighboring villages that have students that attend Talo’fo’fo elementary school to please come out and who are either for or against, you have an opportunity to talk about some things that's important to them and their village."

The education board reminds the community that written testimony or public comments can be submitted before the public hearing or ten days after it. Testimonies can also be sent by email to talofofoelem@gdoe.net.
