A former Guam Customs and Quarantine officer facing illegal drugs and weapons charges is negotiating a plea deal with prosecutors.

Henry Alvendia appeared before presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena in Superior Court today.

Details of the potential plea agreement have not yet been made public.

He is scheduled back in court on Nov. 29 to find out if the parties reached a deal.

Alvendia was arrested last year after authorities found meth, a shotgun, and a rifle.

He was convicted back in 2015, while working for customs, after being caught taking bribes from local businesses.
