Mother expected to could take deal in infant's 2018 death
A mother accused in the death of her newborn baby now more than four years ago could be closer to reaching a plea deal with prosecutors.
Twenty-seven-year-old Melissa Fuppul, facing murder, manslaughter, and child abuse charges in the 2018 killing of her infant, appeared in Superior Court today.
The case has been delayed due to prosecutors being shuffled and health issues with the defense counsel.
In response to the plea agreement negotiations, Judge Vernon Perez told the parties today to "make it happen.'
Fuppul is back in court on Jan. 9, 2023
