Uniformed officers on duty throughout election night

Local law enforcement officers will be on election duty, Guam Police Department Chief Stephen Ignacio told KUAM News.
"That doesn’t just include the Guam Police Department," he said. "We have also have officers from the Department of Youth Affairs, Port Authority police, and possibly the Guam airport and Customs."
Guam law requires that officers provide security during elections.
The chief said aside from providing police presence, officers will escort the ballots to the polling sites, remain there until polls close and the ballots are brought to the University of Guam.
Officers then stay in Mangilao until the final vote is in.

"We can’t leave until that process takes place," Ignacio said. "Then of course, our officers have been there since Friday when they moved the tabulation machines for testing to ensure the integrity of the tabulation center and machines are intact."
Doing their part to prevent election fraud.
The chief reminds everyone they will have officers out there focused on keeping the peace.
"There is going to be a lot of revelry, a lot of support for and against," he said. "But we just remind people to be calm and respectful of each other, and should there be any issues that require police please call 911 or your nearest police precinct."
