This year, the Guam Power Authority has decided to assist several local non-profit organizations by hosting a canned food and supplies drive. It's Public Power Week and the utility agency is celebrating by launching a canned food and supplies drive that will benefit some of the island's non-profit organizations,, especially as we get closer to the holiday season and the demand is greater.

This year, GPA is committed to helping the Salvation Army Guam and Catholic Serviced Guam restock their food pantries.

In addition to their food drive, GPA will be assisting St. Dominic's Senior Care Home with their request for donations such as body lotion, face shield and bathroom tissue. GPA has extended its food drive beyond the public power week until October 14 to ensure they can collect more canned goods for these charitable organizations and are calling out to the community to donate.

The following week, GPA employees will deliver the food items collected from the food drive and the supplies collected. Again, the canned food donations will go to Salvation Army and Catholic Social Services, who help to feed families and deliver food to homeless individuals.

Donations can be placed in the Salvation Army boxes at any of GPA’s service locations.
