A typical day turned disturbing for workers at the MW Corporation’s steel and iron work machine shop in Harmon.

"It’s pretty busy," an eyewitness told KUAM News. "We didn’t smell anything that’s why we didn’t think there was going to be anything there. "Our main concern was to get 911 involved and recover the body."

The witness, who asked not to be named, spoke with KUAM the morning after he and his coworkers made the gruesome discovery.

They were at work Thursday morning when materials went over a retaining wall and into a neighboring jungle area.

The workers then walked through tall grass and branches when they found a Toyota Tercel – underneath.

"We were trying to get some material when we found somebody under the car," the witness said. "Some of our material is on that side and we were checking to pick them up. We weren’t expecting to see that body there."

The witnesses recorded the find on their phone and got out of there.

"We called 911 to have it investigated. We didn’t want to get too close to it and be a part of that," he said.

The Guam Police Department is now conducting a death investigation after officers were called here just after noon, Thursday.

"It looked like he was trying to get some parts out of the car and it fell," the witness said. "That’s what it looked like."

In the video, the body of a person appeared to be lying beneath the front tire area. Beside him, along the frame of the Tercel was a car jack.

It was a sad situation, the witness said.

"Really but the night before we had surveillance that a woman was walking around this area," he said. "I guess – it might be the wife looking for him. She had a flashlight and something shiny like a pipe around 12 midnight."

Investigators now working to find answers and solve how the man died.

The village Mayor Louise Rivera reacted to the discovery.

"It’s very unfortunate," she said. "It saddens me that of course he was so decomposed that they cannot even identify him."

To my understanding in talking with GPD, I also saw the video that went viral with the car jack there so maybe it fell on him. We have a lot of people out there doing makeshift mechanic shops. It really saddens me that we are unaware of anyone missing or not reporting back home. We are wondering who this person is and his family so we can reach out to them."

For now, it appears to be business as usual for workers here.

Several of them still reeling from what they unexpectedly came across.

"My coworkers were really shocked," the witness said. "It was kind of hard to work knowing there was a body right next to us."
