Two people were arrested for the alleged assault of a teenager.

Now, 42-year-old Michael Babauta Mesa Jr. and 61-year-old Annie Babauta Mesa are each facing charges of Child Abuse, Family Violence. Michael Mesa also was charged with Assault Against a Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest.  

According to a magistrate's complaint, On Sept. 12, Michael Mesa allegedly slapped the 15-year-old victim three times on the face and pulled a blanket that was around her neck tightly. Annie Mesa told police it lasted for two to three minutes. The teen also said Michael Mesa  told her "I want all my stuff back I bought you," which she described as "my school supplies for school." He also allegedly told her she could no longer go to school. 

Annie Mesa also is accused of slapping the teen. She allegedly admitted to the incident in a written statement, according to court documents.

 The teen also reported there was no running water, power, and hardly any food because Michael Mesa trades food stamps with the neighbor. 

Court documents state while being placed under arrest at the Southern Precinct Command, Michael Mesa allegedly resisted arrest and punched a police officer.
