The two men accused in the brutal killing of Stevy Villanueva this past January deny that they had anthing to do with his murder.

His heartfelt words were uttered as a dad still grieving, who says he tried his best to help his son kick his meth addiction. It’s been eight months since George Alvarez last saw Stevy alive. He hopes this message will not only honor Stevy’s memory, but make clear to all that we are losing the war on drugs.

He shared this solemn message:

Good day my loving people of Guam. My name is George S. Alvarez. My son is Stevy Alvarez Villaneuva. He was murdered, shot, decapitated, and burned.

He was so loved by many including his friends and thousands of followers on Facebook. He was kind, loving, handsome, fun, played the guitar, sang and helped people in need without question. My heart’s been deeply cut. I can’t see or talk to him anymore, can’t laugh or hug him. Stevy’s four kids no longer have their father. I can only imagine how its going to impact their lives.

My family is hurting and friends are disgusted. It’s been difficult to deal with. I still cry a lot and I know I will never be the same. My heart is broken completely in half and I walk around with a long, sad face because I lost my child.

His death - all due to his addiction to ice. We’ve tried to help Stevy get back on a road to recovery. But now he’s gone.

I am begging all of Guam’s people to join this battle and to pray. Let’s all pray and remember our faith is strong in this community. Together, we can ask God for help to combat the drug problem and all the problems we are facing here on our island home.

To the men who murdered my son: I love you. You are brothers. I care for you and feel sorry for you. Mostly, I forgive you. Your lives are now in God’s hands.

Again, I want to say that something needs to be done now about the drug problem on Guam. Because only then can we prevent another one of our loved ones from being taken out of this world too soon.

Co-defendants Manny Murciano, Jr. and Robert Revels did answer to the charges handed down in an indictment against them in the Superior Court of Guam. They pleaded not guilty. Both remain in prison.
