Man allegedly caught on camera stealing from sleeping victim's car

He allegedly stole thousands of dollars worth of cash and items from a sleeping man's car. Now, 43-year-old Ryan Paul Gebhart is facing charges of burglary and theft for the alleged incident. 

According to a magistrate's complaint, the victim said in the early morning hours of Aug. 3 he was asleep in his car at the Core Tech building. He woke to find his credit cards, cash, and wallet missing with his bag. The victim was able to retrieve the security footage, which officers used to identify Gebhart. 

When interviewed by officers, Gebhart said he went into the vehicle to check the driver. Court documents state that was not consistent with Gebhart's actions seen in the surveillance footage.
