24 Guamanians admitted to hospitals, 141 new cases confirmed

The island's COVID cases reported on Wednesday were 141 new cases from 1,402 specimens gathered on August 9. 14 of those cases were reported by the Department of Defense. 24 people are hospitalized due to the virus, with one requiring ICU-level treatment.

The island's COVID cases reported on Wednesday were 141 new cases from 1,402 specimens gathered on August 9. 14 of those cases were reported by the Department of Defense.

24 people are hospitalized due to the virus, with one requiring ICU-level treatment. Of those, 13 have been admitted to the Guam Memorial Hospital, 9 are at GRMC, and 2 are at U.S. Naval Hospital. Of the hospitalized, 17 are vaccinated and 7 are unvaccinated.

To date, there have been a total of 56,367 officially reported cases, 384 deaths, 1,351 cases in active isolation, and 54,632 not in active isolation.
