76 new COVID cases confirmed
76 new COVID-19 cases were reported by the Joint Information Center today from 1,322 specimens collected on August 3. Twelve of the new cases were reported by the Department of Defense.
The hospitalization count has jumped yet again as there are now 24 people seeking care due to the virus. Yesterday’s hospitalization count was 21. Four of the hospitalized are receiving ICU level treatment, while one is still on ventilator support. Twelve are admitted at the Guam Memorial Hospital, nine are inside the Guam Regional Medical City and three are in the U.S. Naval Hospital. Sixteen of the hospitalized are vaccinated and eight are unvaccinated. To date, there have been a total of 55,822 officially reported cases, 382 deaths, 1,285 cases in active isolation, and 54,155 not in active isolation.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero also signed Executive Order No. 2022-20 yesterday, relative to extending the public health emergency. The extension takes effect tomorrow, August 5th and will expire on September 4th.
