At Adelup, a proclamation signing was held to celebrate and recognize the 232nd anniversary of the United States Coast Guard. In addition to the signing, a resolution presentation was also given to the Coast Guard for all their hard work and dedication to the island.

Coast Guard recruiter and Chief Petty Officer Deren Perez shared what the military branch means to him. "It's very prideful, especially being back home. Being able to serve not just our country, but our island and recruiting, giving the same opportunities to our locals, it honestly means a lot," he shared. "That’s the reason why I took up recruiting in the first place. To be able to come back home and share and provide the same opportunities that I had with the Coast Guard."

The event ended with local leaders commending the Coast Guard members for their selfless contributions and service throughout the island.
