On Saturday, 'Body Beautiful', a group show comprised over 20 of the island's talented artists, opened up to the public at the Lees-Reyes Art Gallery in Tumon. Over 80 pieces are featured.

Dawn Lee- Reyes, owner of the gallery and artist, says the exhibit focuses on figurative and portraiture pieces. Prior to the opening, a 'face off' was held with artists Jerrold Castro and Tara Sood, in which they had one hour to work on a painting with live models and then the finished piece went up for bid as part of a silent auction. Lees-Reyes said the idea for the art exhibit was her idea.

"I try to do something every month that reaches out to different types of artists. So this one is for figurative artists and another time I would do something for photographers. People who do different type of art. I talked to Jerrold and Tara about my idea and they were excited to do live paintings in part with my original idea," she told KUAM News.

'Body Beautiful' will be on display from now til August 2 at the Lees-Reyes Gallery located on the second floor of the Tumon Sands Plaza. Make sure you stop on by and support our amazing local artists.
