An investigation is ongoing as to how an unauthorized drone made its way to the Ritidian Overlook recently. 36th Security Forces Squadron personnel interdicted a drone operated by two people after it was detected within military airspace.

The operators were issued federal citations and there were no injuries or property damage. Flying the drones within five miles of military installations and civilian airports without the proper Federal Aviation Administration authorization is against U.S. federal law and may result in impoundment or destruction of the drone.

To report drones flying on-base or near sites controlled by Andersen AFB, call the Andersen Law Enforcement desk at 671-366-2910.
