Police found more than unpaid merchandise when they pulled over Ignacia Grace Cruz on June 3 for a retail theft complaint.

According to court documents, Cruz was shopping at a store a hotel in Tumon with a man when she came up short at the register. Cruz attempted to pay with cash and prepaid debit cards and allegedly walked out with the items before the cashier could complete the transaction. The items totaled $269 and Cruz still had a balance of more than $150.

Police were able to locate Cruz's vehicle and pulled her over in Dededo. While she was placed under arrest for retail theft, a search of her revealed a loaded 9mm handgun, which was unregistered. Police also searched her bag where they found a glass pipe with suspected meth residue and other items, including a scale and three resealable bags containing suspected meth. Cruz allegedly admitted to having an ounce of meth but selling most of it, court documents state.

And while being processed at the Department of Correction’s Women’s facility, officers found a clear ziplock bag with suspected meth on Cruz.

She was charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver as a first-degree felony, Possession of a Firearm without a Firearm Identification Card as a third-degree felony, Possession of an Unregistered Firearm as a third-degree felony and Retail Theft as a misdemeanor.

According to court documents, Cruz is either 24-years-old or 27-years-old.
