The NMI's top cop, Department of Public Safety Commissioner Robert Guerrero, was a no-show to the House of Representative's budget hearing for his agency on Tuesday.  Instead, administration director Kaye Inos, BMV director Juana Leon Guerrero, and HR manager Esther Delos Reyes answered preliminary questions while Guerrero was in a scheduled meeting, but when the committee came back from recess, its chair had a stern warning.

Rep. Donald Manglona announced, "It seems like a lot of the questions the members have is something that the commissioner will need to answer for himself. And so it has been decided that we will adjourn this meeting and call for another one on Friday, where the option of subpeona will be on the agenda should the commissioner fail to appear before the committee on Friday."

The CNMI House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee has been hosting several hearings in the past few weeks to parse through the next annual budget.
