The Guam Police Department is still searching for the suspect in an attempted kidnapping that occurred last Thursday around 4:30 p.m. in Agana Heights on Francisco Javier Avenue. A minor girl was jogging through the village when an unfamiliar man attempted to pull her into his car multiple times.
The news shocked the neighbors in the tiny central village made up of just under 4,000 residents.
Krystal O'Connor is one of those residents.

"As a woman to be walking around in a neighborhood and knowing that that’s a possibility it was pretty scary," she said.
Gen Serrette shared similar sentiments.
"I’m very very concerned about the safety where I live," she said. "Some have even implemented new measures to protect themselves
I have started leaving my lights on, I make sure my doors are locked. I want to ask my landlord to put in a secondary lock."
Sean O'Connor, too, has become more vigilant.

"Anytime we go out walking or we leave the house we’ll let each other know and we’ll let each other know when we get home so if anything is too long of a time difference then we’d be concerned," he said.
The crime in the village is frustrating for some residents like Serrette.

"I thought this was a supposedly a nice safe area," she said. "We’re living opposite the governor's house and when I heard about it I started leaving my lights on I just became very aware."
The suspect is described to be between the ages of 30-40, dark complexion, short hair with facial sideburns, tall with a slim build. He was wearing a white shirt and black shorts and driving a white Toyota truck on the day of the attempted kidnapping. The Guam Police Department is asking the community to call 671-475-8615 thru 7 if you witnessed or know anything in regards to this investigation.
