Senators are expected to take a deeper look into hiring practices at the Guam Memorial Hospital tomorrow at an oversight hearing.

Legislative Health chair Speaker Therese Terlaje called for the oversight in part to examine above-step recruitments at GMH in an effort to ensure funding is not being diverted from "critical issues" at the island's only public hospital.

According to Terlaje's office, GMH  vacancies, limited-term hires, service contracts, above step recruitments and raises for fiscal years 2020-2022 make up the agenda.

The hearing gets underway tomorrow at 3 p.m.

A similar oversight hearing for the Guam Behavioral Health and Wellness Center will be held by the speaker on Thursday at 1 p.m. Both hearings will be streamed on the Guam legislature's TV and YouTube channels.
