Hawaiian Rock to begin Ysengsong road repairs

Hawaiian Rock Products has been awarded a contract to repair Ysengsong Road from Rte. 1 to Bumuchachu St.

The project, which will cover 1.2 miles of one of the busiest roads in the village of Dededo, costs almost six and half million dollars and is funded by the Federal Highway Administration.

Improvements include repaving asphalt, adding friction course, draining maintenance, refreshed road signage and striping, reconstruction of sidewalk ramps and detectable warning surfaces in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. DPW Director Vince Arriola says he is thankful for the funding, which will ultimately serve all the residents up north.
