Tomorrow is National Take Back Initiative where the community can come and drop off any old or unwanted medications.

According to data from public health's prescription drug monitoring program there were over 97,821 opioid prescriptions dispensed in Guam from 2015 to 2019.
With Guam's growing opioid problem Drug Enforcement Administration Resident Agent in charge Ken Bowman, advises to not throw your unwanted medications in the trash.

"We don't want it ending up on the street cause you never know who's going through the garbage. If people know that there are others in the neighborhood elderly and what not that are disposing medications they'll find it and they'll get it. And we would prefer not to see that happen. We already have an opioid problem," Bowman said.

The event will take place tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Agana Shopping Center, Andersen Air Force Base BX, Dededo Mayor's Office, Malesso' Mayor's Office and the Naval Base Guam-Navy Exchange..
