The Guam Department of Education reports 9 new COVID-19 cases amongst students and staff.

Of that number, six are students, and the rest are GDOE employees.

The cases were identified at Adacao Elementary School (3), Maria A. Ulloa Elementary School (2), and P.C. Lujan Elementary School (1).

For the three GDOE personnel with COVID, the cases were identified at Daniel L. Perez Elementary School, Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School, and George Washington High
School.

Cleaning and disinfecting of areas of the campuses are taking place to ensure schools are ready for regular hours of operation tomorrow.

The Archdiocese of Agana also has reported that seven catholic school students and one employee have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus from October 6 through Oct. 14.

The cases were identified at Mount Carmel School, Bishop Baumgartner Memorial Catholic School, Dominican Child Development Center, St. Anthony Catholic School, Father Duenas Memorial School and Infant of Prague Catholic Nursery and Kindergarten.

There have been 11 cases of COVID-19 by individuals from our Catholic schools since students began returning to in-class learning on Sept. 20.

Since the start of School Year 2021-2022 in August, Catholic schools have recorded 53 positive cases. Forty-eight are students and five staff.
