The Sinajana mayor's office partnered with Public Health to deliver the Pfizer booster shots today for the village's elderly population.
The Pfizer booster clinic was held today at the Hagatna, Agana Heights and Sinajana Mayor's offices for the island's manamko's that have completed their two doses of the Pfizer vaccine. Sinajana Mayor Robert Hofmann.
"Last week we met with the Department of Public Health at the Mayors' Council meeting and we talked about the village booster vaccine campaign and so all the villages were signing up and getting some time slots," he said. "It's been going well so far. We've handled about maybe forty already, just since we opened at 8:30."
In addition to the booster shot, COVID tests were given as well.
"Public Health also allowed for testing to be done on-site for seniors who are experiencing symptoms of any type," Hofmann said. "They're doing the BINAX testing here. So we're really happy that it's a one-stop type of event where can they really just come here and get service for that Pfizer."
Administering the Pfizer booster were the nurses from FEMA. Mayor Hofmann expressed his gratitude for the service they're doing to help our island amidst the pandemic.

"I really thank that FEMA really heard the calls and saw that it's tiring. I can imagine for our frontliners at Public Health who are really having to do this for a year already," Hofmann said. "So it's that extra manpower and help that FEMA has provided and the Guam National Guard has provided has been a real boost to morale and really helpful to what we had to do to get the mission accomplished."
One of the residents getting the booster shot was schoolteacher Bertha Perez.
"I would like to protect myself, my family and most especially my students, who I serve," she said.
The booster clinics will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Vaccination cards and a valid ID are required to get the shot. To make an appointment, contact your respective village mayors' offices.
