One of the darkest days in American history, Sept. 11, will be one of the core themes for the upcoming Pray for Peace Mass. Fr. Mike Crisostomo spoke on the Link to invite island residents to the mass and to remember the fallen heroes of the 9/11 tragedy.

"This was an idea that was spurred from a couple of veterans," he said. "Specifically Greg Perez and Rodrick Leon Guerrero. They had approached me about putting together a prayer for peace but we just thought that this day would've been appropriate because it's the eve of 9/11. It was actually to remember guardsmen and women who throughout the years have served with Afghanistan."

"This kind of spurred the idea of having a prayer for peace to remember them but also to remember all who continue to give up their lives and the ultimate sacrifice," Crisostomo said.
The Pray for Peace Mass is on Sept. 10 at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Tamuning, start time is at 6 p.m.
