The Port Authority of Guam is reporting a pair of COVID cases among its employees.
These two vaccinated employees were exposed to the COVID-19 positive case reported Sept. 1 and were identified through contact tracing, according to a Port release.
The Port’s Contact Tracing Team has identified twenty-three close contacts connected with these two positive cases.
“Despite our best efforts at the Port Authority to stop COVID-19’s spread among our workforce, we are seeing a surge because of the Delta variant," General Manager Rory Respicio said. "These three latest positives are all connected and within the same division, so clearly this brings us to a whole new le
vel of concern. Public Health Director Art San Agustin and his staff, continue to provide timely testing for those identified through contact tracing efforts and we will continue to follow all of the Governor’s directives as well as the CDC guidelines for critical infrastructure worker."
