Micronesia Renewable Energy, Inc. is now Generation Renewable, Inc. the name change was announced this afternoon during a ribbon cutting ceremony at their warehouse facility in Harmon. The purpose of the name change is to support the company's anticipated global expansion beyond its Asia-Pacific roots.

As MRE also commemorated the launch for an initial public offering or IPO during the ceremony.

GRE president Jeffrey Voacolo announced, "We are doing this for a few different reasons: the first we are expanding as a company, and our company now will be viewed as a global company not limited just to the Micronesia region. Believe me, Guam will always be our homebase, but growth requires change and to demonstrate that our reach goes beyond our blue waters. The second reason is with great pride after nine years of growth on Guam and the region we are taking our company public to be traded on an OTCQB publicly-traded platform."
