The island recorded 16 new positive cases out of 841 tests performed on Thursday. The JIC reports that of those cases six were identified through contact tracing.

Guam’s current COVID-19 case count is now 8,079 officially reported cases, 139 deaths, 89 cases are active, and there have been 7,851 recoveries. The CAR Score is 0.6.

Additionally, GDOE reports two new cases. One was identified as a student at J.Q. San Miguel Elementary School. The second positive case was identified as a student attending Jose Rios Middle School. 

 As for vaccinations, a total of 72,027 island residents have been fully vaccinated.

Meanwhile, DPHSS will host another combination COVID testing and vaccination clinic next Tuesday, May 18th and every Tuesday thereafter until further notice, at the old carnival grounds in Tiyan, Barrigada from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. A photo I.D. is required.
