Teachers are invited to register for a series of professional development workshops, kicking off this Friday.

The 12-week series through the Guam Association for Career and Technical Education and the Guam Department of Education will be hosted over Zoom from 9:30 to 11 a.m. every Friday. The first session is titled, “Work Readiness and Employment Insights of Island Businesses.”

Each workshop will feature key speakers in construction, healthcare, retail, banking, telecommunication, hospitality, marketing, and many other fields of local business and industries.

Focal points of the workshops:
• Learning necessary work-readiness skills, knowledge, attitudes, and career opportunities.
• Presenting strategies to incorporate applicable College & Career Readiness concepts in
classroom curriculum.
• Engaging with key industry leaders of local businesses.
Although free to teachers for personal enrichment, teachers can also earn either
• a certificate of completion ($15) or,
• a graduate credit through the University of Guam ($30)
Registration for the certificate or graduate credit will be done on the first day of the workshops.
