Senator Telo Taitague has yet another ethics complaint filed against her citing an incident that occurred in a legislative hearing with GHURA leadership in September of Last year.

A press release sent by the senator's office stated "Senator Taitague's leadership style has caused some of Guam's out-of-touch political elitists to engage in personal and political vendettas against her."

But the man who penned the ethics complaint, GHURA Director, Ray Topasna says, "The bottom line is she did something in the hearing that even forced the oversight chair, Senator Joe San Agustin, to mute her. So, she was actually removed from participating in the hearing. I mean, obviously, she did something wrong."

"Her question was, what is my response to the OPA saying I lie with a straight face. I mean, that had nothing to do with the hearing, that had nothing to do with GHURA. It was more of a personal attack. You know, my concern is, if we have to come to these hearings and speak factually, I think they should be held to the same standard."

With government ethics taking center stage with the recent establishment of the Guam Ethics Commission, Topasna says, it's a necessity to call out elected and appointed officials when it comes to accountability.

"I think everybody that goes to these hearings and feels that the senators are not being truthful in their responses, should do what I did, file an ethics complaint," he detailed.

Senator Taitague's Press release went on to say "The second ethics complaint filed recently by a political hack won't silence me."

But, in a recent communication with Topasna he says "It's interesting when those who hold a politically elected position call me a political hack. But for the record, I have passed 2 exams with the National Housing & Redevelopment Officials organization which makes me a bit more qualified than a singer turned Senator. I live with my wife and 2 daughters. Last I checked, I bought all their purses."
