Embattled CHamoru Land Trust Commission Administrator Jack Hattig’s time with the CLTC may be up. CLTC board Chairman Juan Reyes Jr. told Hattig in a meeting yesterday that the board deems him “not suited” for the job.

This came after CLTC member Angela Santos asked Hattig if he had completed a “priorities list” given to him by former CLTC Chair Pika Fejeran in June of 2019.

Hattig responded that he could not say because he did not have the list on him.

Chairman Reyes then said the CLTC board members had made the determination Hattig was not suited for the job with the support of their legal counsel and relative to discussions held in executive session on February 18. Hattig had been accused by at least one CLTC land agent of coercion and altering a land report.

Chairman Reyes said the next step is a meeting with Gov. Lou Leon Guerrero. The governor had recently supported Hattig in comments made to island media.

Reyes tells KUAM board members requested the meeting the Governor to discuss the decision made at yesterday’s meeting.

Although the board ruled Hattig was not suited for the job, he will remain on the job pending the meeting with the Governor.

A request for comment to Adelup Communications Director Krystal Paco has not been returned.
