Social work conference to touch on disparity issues, COVID

The Annual National Association of Social Workers conference will be taking place later this month, themed "Maintaining Connections through Changing Environments" the two-day conference will be conducted virtually, on March 25 and 26th. NASW Guam Chapter's President-Elect Teri Francisco shared some details.

"It will really aim to be a de-briefing and kind of a reflection as a Social Work Community of the different social movements that have transformed our community and our society within the last year," she said. 

The first day of the conference will be focused on racisim and disparity discussing the upcoming re-negotiation of the Compact of Free Association. The second day will hone in on the island's COVID response and the issues that presented themselves through the past year.
