The Guam Department of Education will begin holding Eskuelan Puengi (Night School) for high school students this month. Eskuelan Puengi is designed as a course by conference credit recovery program for students in grades 9 through 12 who lack 0.5 or more credits. This program supports motivated students to earn credits in order to remain on track for graduation.

Eskuelan Puengi will combine synchronous and asynchronous instruction for home learning online and face-to-face instruction for each six-week session. Synchronous instruction, via face-to-face or online, will occur for an hour or more for two days per week or as designated by the hosting school site. Asynchronous instruction and assistance will be scheduled during the week and accommodated by teachers.

The Model of Learning for Eskuelan Puengi is Home Learning: Online. Students interested in attending Eskuelan Puengi but do not have a laptop for online distance learning may contact their school for device distribution. Accommodations for face-to-face instruction or hard copy curriculum can be coordinated with school administrators and teachers.

Eskuelan Puengi Session A will take place from Feb. 15 to March 6, 2021, while Session B will take place from April 5, 2021, to May 14, 2021. Interested students should contact their respective school counselors for more information on the registration process and the courses being offered.
