AM Ermis, 16, was arrested and charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle as a second-degree felony with notice: commission of a felony while on felony release and Complicity to Commit Burglary as a second-degree felony.
According to court documents, on Jan. 11, police received a report of a stolen car at an apartment in Anigua. The victim's boyfriend learned the car was parked at a nearby restaurant. There, police saw and interviewed a minor suspect who said he stole the car with Ermis after looking for unlocked cars.
When police met with Ermis, he questioned police saying, " I didn't take the car," even though police didn't mention anything about the theft.
Ermis also was interviewed about a March 2020 burglary. He admitted he was drinking and planned to steal money from apartments behind Coast 360 but only acted as a "lookout" for another minor involved.
Court documents state a victim chased two minors from their apartment after the burglary. A phone and purse were taken.
